A hidden gem in Colombia
I am going to tell you one of the regions that I believe non of the passport bros is talking about...
I had a little doubt about writing this mail, but I think it will do more good than harm, my goal is to give you the best insights about Colombia and I just could not talk about this.
The hidden gem you want to take a look is the Boyacá Department in Colombia. One of my favourite places to be here, is calm, traditional, beautiful and extremely cheap.
Remember that Colombia, as in any other country, depending of the city everything feels different, according to your plans you want to live in a city that most adapt to your goals.
Why I think you should look more into Boyar is because it represents the most traditional way of living in Colombia. People there are humble, a big part of people live from what they produce, they are farmers (campesinos) and you can feel that. People are proud of being from there and from their produce, the love and are proud that they cultivate and live from it.
It has a great historical background because the main independence fight were fought there in August 17, 1817. Its an interesting region of Colombia because it had a lot of conflict during the political violence in the 1950’s, during the violence in the 1980’s it wasn’t too violent because the war was disputed over strategic control over the drug routes. Now its one of the most secure regions of the country, I can see the potential tourism and a great opportunity to you to keep in mind.
Because if full of farms, food is completely natural and organic. Everything is fresh, you can be certain everything is fresh.
