Imagine being born in Santa Marta, Colombia, and meeting a millionaire from Luxembourg who wants to do business with you. The probability of that happening is 1%.
Twitter has been a platform for connecting with people, and one of those people is the Luxembourger I'm going to talk about today. I must confess that I still don't monetize my BowTiedColombia account very well, but I'm learning thanks to the people I've connected with on Twitter.
If it weren't for Twitter, it would be impossible for me, as a Colombian, to have millionaire friends with such strong business acumen.
The value of Twitter, or "X," is not money. Well, money does matter to me, but Twitter has served me well in terms of connecting with millionaires. This is great because in my line of work, I would never have the chance to meet a millionaire from Luxembourg. It's statistically imposible.
I'll soon be making a lot of money because I'm undeniably friends with Twitter millionaires who want to see me succeed, and I know that if you surround yourself with wealthy people, you inevitably become one of them.
I'm learning from them. That's why I'm grateful to Twitter. Twitter hasn't given me a lot of money, but it has given me valuable skills and important contacts.
That Luxembourger millionaire has changed the way I see life. He's a great person, honest, and he offered me the opportunity to do business here. But what I want to convey in this article is that he's living an incredible life in Colombia.
He bought an apartment near Virrey Park for 500 million pesos (120K USD). He lives in the best area of BogotΓ‘ and has many Colombian lovers who are eager to be with him. He lives a peaceful life, loves Colombian towns, goes to the gym, and enjoys his freedom.
I didn't know what the life of a millionaire in Colombia was like until I met him. Everyone has different goals in life, and he has his own, but the way he lives is so fulfilling and enjoyable (not hedonistic).
He seeks investments, works, goes to the gym, and contributes. But when I say freedom, I mean the freedom he enjoys. Few people have that kind of freedom, and he has taught me to value it.
I never thought that having money at that level and living in Colombia would be so incredible. I mean, I know that living here is incredible, but I didn't imagine it would be this amazing. Women adore him, he looks for investments, he doesn't work because he already has money and is retired.
He travels to Colombian towns, speaks five languages fluently, including Spanish. He wants to include me in his business ventures. He's a great person who loves Colombia, but not everything has been perfect.
He has experienced everything here. He was recently robbed at gunpoint on a highway, and so on. But he knows a lot about Colombia (he's quite astute, unlike some foreigners). He can identify women who approach him for ulterior motives or who want to drug him with scopolamine.
In fact, we went to a bar in the area, and he said, "Look, those two women are looking for a gringo to get money from." I was surprised that he knew that just by looking at their faces, despite being a foreigner. Obviously, he has lived here for five years. He already knows everything about Colombia and wouldn't leave for anything in the world, despite the downsides.
He's been robbed at gunpoint and he's been through it all, but he still knows that Colombia is wonderful.
He's just like any other Colombian, except he's from Luxembourg, a millionaire, and as street-smart as a Colombian. In other words, he makes the most out of Colombia. Something that most foreigners don't do.
Gringos living in Colombia don't know how to live here. They come here to be with prostitutes, get drugged, and get robbed because they don't take the time to learn how everything works here. You don't need five years to learn how to live here. That's where I come in.
