Can the devil cause bad luck?

This is one of the inquiries that people who believe they are experiencing the effects of some kind of magic frequently ask priests.

First and foremost, it is important to note that from a Christian perspective, talking about good or bad luck is a superficial way of considering things.

I use the term "superficial" because, although it may be acceptable as a mode of speaking, it is incorrect from a theological standpoint.

What may appear as bad luck externally should be seen as a test, and what may appear as good luck should be seen as a blessing. In this sense, God allows evil through various secondary causes, including the devil.
