I have been living in Bogotá for ten years and I have never felt in danger until one day I made the mistake of being too trusting in Trasmilenio.
Sometimes the mistake of living in Bogota is believing that nothing bad is going to happen to you. In other words, I forgot that I lived in Colombia.
Bogota is too safe in some areas. You are going to feel like you are in Europe walking down the street as if nothing had happened, seeing high-end cars and luxury mansions (Rosales).
What was my mistake?
Take a transmilenio on a Friday at 10pm on Caracas avenue. Obviously on Fridays people in Bogota tend to party more than usual.
Here people work very hard from Monday to Friday and Friday is the day of freedom and degeneration.
People leave work and get drunk immediately. People get drunk practically from 4 in the afternoon (especially the days that they are paid their salary)
I took the transmilenio at that time on Caracas avenue and they robbed me inside the transmilenio.
At that time an iPhone 6 was stolen from me
In a transmilenio station a fat man came in with a gigantic knife and told me: give me your cell phone hijueputa!
