I recently moved and now live in Salitre, a middle-upper class (stratum 5) area in Bogotá, close to the airport. It's quite a nice area, though not as bustling with nightlife and restaurants as the Zona T. However, I personally prefer living here.
As I'm not yet a millionaire, I need a place conducive to concentration. Despite Zona T being an attractive and slightly pricier area, I wouldn't fully enjoy it due to my lack of time for frequent restaurant visits or partying.
I'm sharing some pictures of my studio apartment, where I live with my girlfriend. Securing the lease was quite the ordeal. In Colombia, the process to rent an apartment is demanding, requiring numerous documents. Although I have enough funds to cover the rent for a year, the extensive documentation and the need for a co-signer with property was a must in case of default.
The process was complicated by the fact that my co-signer lives in Miami and had to visit the Miami consulate, quite a distance from his residence, to authenticate the documents. This meant having his signature verified at the consulate to confirm his identity, a procedure typically done at notaries in Colombia.
