The problem everyone is talking about now
You read the news, is better to be prepared...
Imagine using Tinder and matching a good looking girl you are exited to meet. Yo get ready and when you meet her, its in fact her, it wasn’t a catfish so you get more relaxed and get your guard down. You get drinks and have a good time, but as everything is going well, suddenly you black out and the next day you wake up and don’t recall anything from last night, you check your account and you were robed.
When I read news about people getting robed and scoped when using Tinder, not only I get upset but also start to think about all the consequences a person has to deal after. The worst feeling is getting robed because you were too naive and didn’t pay attention to the signals.
This happens to Colombians and foreigners, it doesn’t matter where you come from.
I know its tough, the responsibility should be always be on the criminals they should be prosecuted and send to jail. But in reality, is really hard to do that with every criminal, they will always keep looking for ways to get money from you.
And criminals are all around the world, you can get robed or killed anywhere. But scopolamine is a truly Colombian phenomena, I recall stories from long time ago of people getting scoped and robed. Is not a new way to rob people and is not only happening to foreigners.
Tinder is only a new way criminals are using to take advantage from unprepared people.
Its sometimes crazy how much criminals do to get to their goal, for example imagine all the effort of having a good looking girl matching people and setting dates, there could be one victim almost everyday if they wanted to. They don’t care about life or anything, they just want to take advantage of the hardworking people.
Sadly it is like that, and the best way is to be cautious and prevent anything serious happening to you.
Always keep in mind that sometimes things are too good to be true, matching a really hot girl and she’s pushing you to go get drinks to your apartment. Big mistake and a red flag. Never take strangers to your place, not in the first night.
People get the mistake of getting too confident too quick, at the end you are meeting with a stranger, so never leave your drink unattended or out of your sight. Thats when they got you and slip the drug in your drink, if you are not sure about your environment and maybe feel somebody was trying to do something with your drink, just stop drinking, tell the bartender or just simply leave the place.
But is also about recognizing who can be criminal. This is a tough one for foreigners, because they are not yet used to Colombia and how people look. Is a hard pill to swallow but you can identify if somebody has a face, way to talk or move that implies he’s a criminal. You need practice and guidance to really identify who is trying to take advantage from you.
And finally, just because a girl you are meeting is attractive doesn’t mean she’s couldn't be a criminal. It’s a bias hard to remove from your head, but it happens and that’s why Tinder is popular now for criminals. A pretty face can make a man be relaxed and just think about sleeping with her and shut down his defence mechanism.
Dont think with the small head, my friends.
Sadly, things like that happen and I always try my best to guide my followers to avoid being a victim. By listening the experience and being aware of how criminals act, I have developed a guide that can help you identify when you are being targeted by criminals, check it out here:
