“La Chorrera” and “El Chiflón”
As well as the well-known “Salto de Tequendama”, which you can also visit near Bogotá, there are these two waterfalls if you want to do ecotourism and something more adventurous. Visiting these beautiful landscapes and impressive views will allow you to take pictures of the páramo along the way, marvel at the diversity of the vegetation in the area, and appreciate the wonders of nature.
Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira
1 hour from Bogotá, is the so-called first wonder of Colombia, one of the most touristic places near Bogotá that you should know. The Salt Cathedral is a wonderful enclosure built inside the salt mines. An imposing cultural and religious heritage of our region.
Villa de Leyva
Before or after visiting the cathedral, you can get a little further out of the city and easily take a tour of Villa de Leyva to see its colonial buildings, its cobbled streets and the great Plaza Mayor, visit the church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and the House of the First Congress of the United Provinces, in that place the new laws were drafted after the independence of 1812. In addition, nearby you can visit the Boyacá Bridge, see the architecture of Ráquira, have a delicious hot chocolate at the Chocolate Museum and why not, enjoy a good wine in the Ain Karim vineyard.
Laguna de Guatavita
Nearby you can go on a guided tour of Lake Guatavita, enjoy the wonderful landscapes and learn about the "Leyenda de El Dorado". We won't tell you more because we want you to discover the rest.
I recommend you rent a car so you can enjoy these towns independently and mobilize with waze.
