I am learning about the world of passports and residencies because it's relatively new to me. Many people have multiple passports and residencies by applying the "Trifecta Method."
The "Trifecta Method" is a concept developed by Nomad Capitalist after years of traveling and experiencing different cultures and lifestyles worldwide.
The idea came to him while he was in Bogotá, Colombia, reflecting on how to optimize his personal and professional life. This method involves establishing three strategic bases in different regions of the world and spending approximately four months in each. The Trifecta not only allows you to take advantage of different seasons throughout the year but also maximizes quality of life by adapting to various cultures, climates, and environments.
Advantages of the Trifecta:
Diversity of Lifestyles and Climates: By having bases in three different parts of the world, you can enjoy a variety of cultures and lifestyles. For example, you could experience summer in Europe, spring in Asia, and autumn in Latin America. This approach allows you to avoid extreme climates and always live in favorable conditions.
Cultural and Gastronomic Richness: From exotic cuisine in Asia to the rich historical heritage of Europe and the vibrant urban life of Latin America, the Trifecta Method enables you to enjoy the best of each world.
Flexibility and Adaptability: The Trifecta offers a strategic advantage in a constantly changing world. If there is an economic, political, or health crisis (más importante) in one of the bases, you can simply switch to another. This reduces vulnerability to external factors and provides a sense of security and control.
Networking and Business Opportunities: Living in different parts of the world allows you to build a global network of contacts. This is invaluable for anyone involved in international business, as it opens doors to new opportunities and collaborations.
Personal and Professional Development: By living in different countries, you can learn new languages, understand different legal and economic systems, and adapt to various business cultures. This not only enhances your professional competitiveness but also contributes to your personal growth.
This world is new to me. As a Colombian, you don’t usually think about these things. I would only be interested in living in or traveling to the United States because of its economy and for business purposes. Other than that, maybe I’d like to visit Brazil, but that’s about it. Living somewhere else is not something I can imagine right now. The world is different for Latinos.
I feel very comfortable in Colombia. I don’t think I would live anywhere else unless it’s for business (United States). The quality of life that Colombia offers is enough for me to want to live here.
But if Petro destroys the country, I will definitely move to another place.
Why Colombia Over Other Latin American Countries
Let’s start with the basics: Colombia doesn’t have seasons, and its climate is pleasant all year round. The people are incredibly welcoming. Many talk about Argentina or Mexico, but in terms of hospitality, no one will welcome you with as much warmth and love, whether you are a foreigner or a local, as Colombians do.
This is easy to verify—people who come to the country often don’t want to leave, even though we have many problems.
I didn’t know this, but Nomad Capitalist has a girlfriend from Bogotá, which is probably why he prefers Colombia and the city of Bogotá.
But anyway, I also live in Bogotá because I work remotely, and I feel very comfortable here. I don’t face the dangers that people using public transport do. I live with my girlfriend; we do our grocery shopping, go to nice restaurants, and the gym is in the building where I live. Let’s say that my lifestyle wouldn’t improve much if I moved to another place (unless it’s the United States, where I could meet people for interesting business opportunities).
